The Musical Instruments Playable in the Butterfly’s Dream

Greetings! 

In the Butterfly’s Dream, we designed several puzzles inspired by ancient Chinese musical instruments: Qin, Bianzhong, and Dizi. Let’s take a look! All screenshots listed below are work in progress.

This Qin puzzle is inspired by an ancient seven-string zither, named Guqin (古琴)[1]. Guqin is favored by scholars in ancient China and often represents high culture. The quiet sounds of guqin are great for meditation and zen experiences.

An introduction to the Chinese characters in the game

Aloha! Here is an introduction to all the Chinese characters you may find in the graphics of The Butterfly’s Dream. In the graphics, traditional Chinese characters are used for consistency. We hope this introduction can help you better understand the culture behind this game. All screenshots listed below are work in progress.

On the Main House building:
厚德載物/厚德载物
Great virtue bears all things.

This phrase comes from Yijing or Book of Changes.
